Museum 'Kobona: Road of Life'
About museum
The village of Kobona became famous during the Great Patriotic War thanks to the famous Road of Life, which connected besieged Leningrad with the mainland. In 1980 the 'Kobona: Road of Life' museum was opened here. In 2010 a fire completely destroyed the museum building, but it was restored by the 70th anniversary of Victory. The new exhibition presents the history of the village, the history of the Kobona school, the everyday life of the villages on the shores of Lake Ladoga, and the life and work of the poet A. A. Prokofiev. The museum houses unique artistic and cartographic materials, a fisherman's boat, and household items. One of the halls features an audio installation with songs set to the poems of A. A. Prokofiev. In an interactive space equipped with stylized school desks, furniture, and educational materials, museum lessons are held. The museum has collected materials that help immerse visitors in the atmosphere of the events of the Great Patriotic War. The exhibition allows visitors to feel the history of the village of Kobona and the celebrated poet A. A. Prokofiev.
