Museum of the History of Political Repressions

On October 4, 2014, on the 60th anniversary of the city of Inta, the Museum of the History of Political Repressions opened in the water tower. On the first floor of the museum the history of the construction of the city and the tower is recounted, and original household items and personal belongings of the first builders of Inta and of the tower are exhibited. The second floor features a partial reconstruction of the living environment of an individual camp site. In addition, the museum displays photographs of the city's streets and buildings from the 1940s–1960s, portrait photographs of the country's political leaders and Inta's leaders from the period of political repressions. The museum is equipped with information terminals and media resources that allow visitors to obtain the information they are interested in. Thus, the museum presents interesting and useful materials about political repressions and the history of the city of Inta.
