About museum

On November 28, 1962, a people's museum dedicated to the prominent revolutionary-diplomat Karim Abdraufovich Khakimov was opened in Dyusyanovo. From 1979 to 2005 it operated as a branch of the National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan, and since 2006 it has been the municipal museum of the Bizhbulyak District. During this time the museum's collections were updated and supplemented with documents, photographs and films. The exhibits introduce visitors to Khakimov's childhood, his education, and his revolutionary and diplomatic activities. The museum displays his personal belongings, including a briefcase given to him by friends in memory of the battles on the Aktobe Front during the Civil War. The museum's holdings total 1,386 items, and it receives more than 2,500 visitors annually.
