Museum of the Kaliningrad Higher Naval School
About museum
On April 7, 1969, a decree of the USSR Council of Ministers established the Kaliningrad Higher Naval School. In 1998 it was transformed into the Baltic Naval Institute, which in 2002 was given the honorary name of F. F. Ushakov. Today the institute is one of nine branches of the N. G. Kuznetsov Naval Academy (named for Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union). Graduates of the institute who served on the nuclear submarine Kursk received honorary decorations for heroism and bravery during military operations. In their memory, an exhibition was set up in the museum of the Baltic Naval Institute.
