About museum

The Akinfiy Demidov Museum of the History of Mining Development, located in the town of Zmeinogorsk, Zmeinogorsky District, Altai Krai, has a long history. It was opened on April 27, 1985. The museum's research library is formed mainly through donations. It houses publications from the 19th to the early 20th century that previously belonged to the Technical Library of the Zmeinogorsk Mine Administration, the Loktevskaya secondary school, the artisan-industrial cooperative "Promsoyuz" and others. Special attention is paid to acquiring books on local history, as well as books with autographs of notable persons.
