About museum

The museum in Derbent is a unique place where one can appreciate the tolerance and mutual influence of different cultures. It displays artifacts demonstrating the religious preferences and everyday life of the peoples of the Caucasus and Dagestan. The museum is entirely dedicated to fostering religious tolerance and respect for the religions and cultures of various peoples. It features sections devoted to different confessions: paganism, Buddhism, Judaism, Russian Orthodoxy, Armenian Gregorianism and Islam. Thus, the museum is intended to promote tolerance and understanding among people of different cultures and nations.
