The Museum of History of the Kokhma Urban District was opened in 2007. Its collection features exhibits that tell the history of Kokhma and the Ivanovo region, about famous people and talented local residents, as well as about the everyday life of the Russian people. The museum's holdings include more than 1,000 exhibits: antiques, porcelain, paintings, books, and items of decorative and applied arts. The building housing the museum was built in 1889 by the Yasyunin merchants for the Kokhma two-class school. It is recognized as a monument of history and architecture and an object of cultural heritage of local significance.
