A.M. Koshurnikov Museum
About museum
In 1964, on the initiative of the builders of the Abakan–Taishet railway, the A.M. Koshurnikov Museum was founded. It became a people's museum in 1965, and in 1966 it was transferred to School No. 89 (now No. 22). Since 2001 the museum has been part of the branch of the MBUK 'Kuraginsky District Local History Museum'. The collections include items related to the railway, the history of its surveyors, the builders of the Abakan–Taishet route, employees of the Krasnoyarsk Railway and the Koshurnikovo station. The museum offers guided tours, runs a club for young guides and cooperates with Russian Railways (RZD). In addition, every year on the Day of Remembrance of the pioneers an event honoring A.M. Koshurnikov is held in the settlement of Kazyr (formerly the village of Nizhnyaya Tridtsatka). In 2020, in honor of the 55th anniversary of the Abakan–Taishet railway, a memorial plaque to Koshurnikov, Stofato and Zhuravlev was installed on the monument-stele in Kazyr.
