Museum of Crystal and Glass, 18th–21st Centuries
About museum
Housed in the building of the former Trinity Old Believer Church, designed by architect Sergey Zharov and built in 1913–1916, the museum is an example of pseudo-Russian architecture. Inside, it is dedicated to the talented craftsmen of Gus-Khrustalny, often called "the Russian Murano." Here you can see luxurious engraved goblets, decorative "gold-ruby" glass pieces, uranium-glass decanters, purple and golden-brown vases in the style of Gallé, as well as original works by outstanding artists of the Gus-Khrustalny Crystal Factory — Evgeny Rogov, Vladimir Kasatkin, Adolf Kurilov, and Luiza Matosyan. The centerpiece of the exhibition is a vivid glass installation, "Memories of Venice," created by People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Muratov. The museum presents numerous exhibits filled with light and air, dedicated to art and history.
