About museum
The Yenisei Local History Museum is one of the oldest museums in Siberia, having existed for 138 years. More than 40,000 items are represented in its collections. In honor of the 400th anniversary, an interactive exhibition "Museum of the Yenisei" was created, allowing people to learn about the history of the river and its influence on people's lives. It also tells about the construction of the ostrog (a type of Russian wooden fort), the role of the Yenisei in the development of the territories of Eastern Siberia, postal communications, and the culture and religion of this region. Tours, master classes, concerts, literary evenings, exhibitions and other events are held here.
