Detsky Mir Museum
About museum
Here you can feel the atmosphere of a real New Year.
The museum opened in 2013 on the site of a collection of Soviet toys. It now houses the collection of theater and film actor, TV presenter and Honored Artist of Russia Alexander Oleshko. It was assembled during tours to various corners of the country. The museum displays New Year decorations from the pre-war period to the 1980s — toys made of cardboard, papier-mâché, wood and glass that were found in antique shops and flea markets. You can also see Soviet postcards and posters from Oleshko's collection. But the main items are Ded Moroz figures, Snegurochkas and reindeer. The museum offers tours and workshops on hand-painting toys. Here you can feel the atmosphere of a real New Year and immerse yourself in childhood together with your children.
