About museum
This museum is a monument to Dagestan's heroic history and serves as an example for future generations.\r\n\r\nThe museum's main exhibition is dedicated to Dagestan's contribution to the Victory over fascism. On display are documents, awards, weapons and personal belongings of front-line soldiers, a panorama of the war, Hero Cities, photographs of Dagestanis — Heroes of the Soviet Union. Tunics, awards, weapons, banners, items of military equipment, the flight suit of fighter pilot Amet-khan Sultan, the general's uniform of Khalilov S. Kh., the tunic of Hero of the Soviet Union Alexander Sitkovsky and much more. In a separate showcase are the greatcoat and personal belongings of Hero of the Soviet Union Captain 2nd Rank Magomed Gadzhiev. The second part of the exhibition presents the history and memory of Dagestanis who demonstrated heroism and courage in armed conflicts. The V. V. Makarova Museum of Military Glory was opened in 1981 and contains more than 3,000 exhibits. It is a monument to Dagestan's heroic history and an example for future generations.
