Baklushi Museum - "Jam Library"
About museum
On the ancient trade route from Moscow to Yaroslavl stands the unique Baklushi Museum, established on Yaroslavl soil. It immerses visitors in the world of Russian folk traditions and in the warm, soulful atmosphere of a peasant izba. In the old village of Semibratovo you will visit a peasant craftsman — a spoon-maker — to learn the famous Russian craft of "biti baklushi" (carving baklushi blanks).
In the museum's homestead you can learn about the process of preparing baklushi blanks and see how "trivial" that work really was. In the Spoon-maker's Workshop you will witness the transformation of a baklushi into a beautiful spoon by attending a master class led by an experienced spoon-maker.
