About museum
Research on the ethnic history and ethno-cultural relations of the Turkic, Finno-Ugric and East Slavic peoples of Bashkortostan and the entire Volga–Ural region is carried out by the Department of the Peoples of the Urals together with the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography. The Museum houses rich collections of objects from the earliest, ancient and medieval history of the Southern Urals, which allow an understanding of the evolution and succession of various cultures and ethnic formations. The exhibitions present materials about the past and present of the Bashkirs and other peoples of the Republic of Bashkortostan, as well as supplementary information in the form of maps, diagrams, photographs, plans and graphic reconstructions. All this enables visitors to obtain comprehensive information about the development of the cultures and peoples of the Southern Urals from the earliest times to the late Middle Ages.
