About museum
On May 9, 1975 the memorial museum "Defenders of the Suar Gorge" was solemnly opened, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Victory over Fascism. It houses exhibits, artifacts, documents, photographs and letters of the fighters of the 34th Separate Rifle Brigade, which was formed from cadets of five naval schools. These 18-year-old boys fought bravely for the village of Mayramadag in 1942. The purpose of the museum is the military-patriotic education of youth. Visitors can learn about the heroes who went through the Great Patriotic War.
Here are presented exhibits, artifacts, documents, as well as a collection of photographs and letters of the fighters. The museum became an example of remembrance of the heroes who underwent the most severe trials during the Great Patriotic War.
