Leninogorsk Local History Museum
About museum
In the center of the town of Leninogorsk is the Leninogorsk Local History Museum, which celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2020. It was established by members of the city–district council of veterans of the Great Patriotic War; the first director was K. K. Gallyamov. The initial collection included dozens of documents and personal belongings of front-line soldiers. In 1991 the museum was incorporated into the state network, and in 2005 it was renamed the Leninogorsk Local History Museum. Today it occupies 380.5 sq. m and has three permanent exhibitions: "Ethnography", "Hall of Memory", and "Nature Hall". The museum's collections are rich in documents, photographs, ethnographic items, as well as the personal belongings of eight Heroes of the Soviet Union and natives of the region. The museum has exhibition halls where various exhibitions are held; the staff warmly welcome visitors and tell them about the national characteristics and traditions of the area.
