About museum
\r\nThe museum was opened in 2007 in a red-brick building constructed in 1912. Until 1917 the building served as the city duma, and then until 2017 as the district executive committee and the city administration. Currently it is shared between the museum and a children's art school. The museum's holdings include 1,129 items in the main collection and 1,440 items in the research and auxiliary collection. Visitors can view the permanent exhibitions: 'Handicrafts of Our Grandmothers', 'It Was a Century Ago', 'Made in the USSR', 'Krasny Khimik Factory — history, people, events', 'The Wonder Stove', 'Soldiers of Victory', 'Sudogodsky District: history in faces'. In addition, the museum hosts more than 10 permanent and temporary exhibitions each year, organized by museum staff from its own collections.
