They include archaeological finds, works of art, household items, etc. The museum holds various events, programs, lectures and other activities dedicated to the history and culture of the Bavlinsky District. The history of the Bavly Local History Museum began in January 1986. Until 1990 the museum operated on a voluntary/public basis. In 1996 the first exhibition, "Bavly — My Native Land", was opened, allowing visitors to learn about the history of the town and district from ancient times to the present. In 1997 the second exhibition, "Nature of Our Land", was opened, presenting the local flora and fauna. Currently the museum's collections contain more than 17,000 items, including archaeological finds, works of art, household items, etc. The museum hosts various events, programs, lectures and other activities dedicated to the history and culture of the Bavlinsky District.
