About museum

In 2004 the Art Gallery "Viktor Ivanov and the Ryazan Land" was opened as a branch of the Ryazan State Regional Art Museum named after I. P. Pozhalostin. It was established in honor of the 80th anniversary of the birth of the artist V. I. Ivanov. The gallery houses more than two hundred paintings and graphic works in various genres. Among them are portraits, landscapes, interiors, genre scenes and drawings by V. I. Ivanov. The gallery has an exhibition hall where themed and solo exhibitions are held. Literary-musical and poetry evenings are also organized here, as well as academic and practical conferences on visual arts and local history. In addition, the gallery offers a program for the professional, patriotic and moral education of the youth of Ryazan and the surrounding region.
