About museum
The opening of the Historical and Local Lore Museum, dedicated to the 385th anniversary of the founding of the town of Kerensk (now Vadinsk), took place on December 2, 2021. The museum is housed in a building constructed in the early 19th century to a design by architect A.D. Zakharov. Since 1813, the district administrative offices were located here. The Historical and Local Lore Museum is engaged in identifying, collecting, preserving, studying, and exhibiting items related to the history of the Vadinsk district. The museum's main collection consists of original artifacts. These include archaeological finds; works of art and crafts; documents recording historical events; memorial materials related to notable local figures; and household items. Currently, the museum offers guided tours and various local-history events.
