Ilishevsky Local History Museum
About museum
The Ilishevsky Local History Museum is located in the building of the Ilishevsky District Palace of Culture. Its creation was initiated by the Ilishevsky District Committee of the CPSU, and organized by Kh. Kh. Khamidullin, head of the Propaganda and Agitation Department of the District Committee of the CPSU. The museum was opened on November 4, 1967 in the boarding-house building of Verkhneyarkeevskaya Secondary School No. 1 as a public museum of military and labor glory. In 1983 the building was allocated to the former educational-methodical center of the district agricultural administration. In 1988 the museum became a branch of the Bashkir State Association of Museums. In the 1990s it was provided with the District House of Culture (RDK) building with an area of more than 990 sq. m. At present the museum has over 3.5 thousand items in the main collection and over 2 thousand units in the research and auxiliary collection.
