About museum
The Bashenin Dacha Art and Exhibition Complex is part of the Sarapul Historical-Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve, which is listed among architectural monuments of federal significance. It is located in the country villa of industrialist Pavel Andreevich Bashenin (1868–1910). The museum houses paintings by masters of the 19th–20th centuries, artistic furniture, tableware and other household items of Sarapul's merchant class, as well as materials about the life and activities of P. A. Bashenin and his family. He was popular among townspeople and known for his achievements in the merchant community. He brought great progress to the town, including the construction of a modern water supply system, a fire watchtower, the first power plant in the Middle Urals, dozens of social facilities and beautiful houses with turrets. Bashenin's dacha was built in 1909 in the Art Nouveau style. The grounds include utility buildings, a stable-garage, cobblestone paving, a decorative fountain, a conifer park and relict plants. From May 24, 2022, entry to the museum will be restricted.
