The Museum of the Development of the North is a young museum located in Gubkinsky, the youngest city in Russia. It was founded on January 1, 1996, and its collections currently contain more than 24,000 items. The museum presents collections on the city's history, ethnography, archaeology, mineralogy, art, traditional Russian everyday life, numismatics, etc. The museum has four exhibition halls housing permanent displays, as well as large and small exhibition halls for temporary exhibitions. There is audiovisual equipment, information kiosks, an interactive multitouch table, and an interactive floor. The museum hosts exhibitions, interactive programs for children, mass events, and celebrations.
