Gryazovets Museum of History and Folk Culture
About museum
The budgetary cultural institution "Gryazovets Museum of History and Folk Culture" is located in the Razumovsky‑Mashaldin house, built in the second half of the 19th century. It is included in the list of historical and cultural heritage sites of federal significance. In the past the building housed a restaurant, a boys' gymnasium, a local history museum, and a school for deaf children. In 1978 local historian Antonina Noskova initiated the creation of a people's museum, which in 1980 became a branch of the Vologda museum‑reserve. The museum's exhibitions present the history of Gryazovets and the Gryazovets district from the 18th century to the present day. Exhibitions include "Vologda Flax", "Peasant House and Everything in It", "Gryazovets — Trade", "Gryazovets — Merchant", "Roads of War", and "Nature of the Native Land".
