In Likhoslavl, the municipal cultural institution MBUK 'RCKiD' has its own branch — the City Garden. Its history began in 1930–1931, when members of the Komsomol from the Likhoslavl Communist Agricultural School, led by the director, proposed the idea of creating a city park-garden. Drama clubs operated here, so the decision to build an open‑air summer theatre in the City Garden was made in the early 1930s. Artists and creative ensembles from Tver, Vyshny Volochyok, Kimry, Moscow and other towns performed on its stage.
