Gorodishchinsky Local History Museum

About museum

Until 2015 the museum did not have its own premises. All exhibits, documents and photographs were located in the administration building, and various events and exhibitions were also held there. Over time the exhibits and interesting facts about the settlement grew. At the end of 2014 the museum received official status, and on February 28, 2015 a local history museum was opened in the settlement of Gorodishchi at Sovetskaya St., 21a. The area of the exhibition halls doubled, and the number of exhibits reached 400 thanks to schoolchildren and the residents of the settlement. In the new museum premises visitors can learn about the history of Russia as well as the history of the settlement and the fates of its residents. The museum displays collections of household items from the late 19th to the early 20th centuries. It is visited by schoolchildren, pensioners and young children.
