About museum
In 1991 the museum opened its beautiful spaces to visitors. Here you can see the ratn-khot, which includes above-ground pyramid-shaped dwellings and summer and winter semi-subterranean dwellings. On the play area you can try archery, 'Kusyn', 'Kuly yukh', and also take part in sports competitions: jumping over narty (sleds) and throwing the tynzyan onto a khorey. At the Reindeer Herders' Camp you can see two chums (summer and winter fur chums), a koral, a reindeer house, and various types of narty. At the Semi-sedentary Fisher-Hunter's Camp you can see a winter hut, three labaz (elevated storage platforms), a hearth, a bread oven (nyan kor), and a shelter for storing and drying items. All of this is surrounded by a fence made of poles, along the perimeter of which the museum entrance runs. The hunter-and-fisher trail features traps for game, fur-bearing animals and fish, and a temporary fisherman's shelter. Here you can see hunting implements and means of transport, both traditional and modern.
