Gilyarovsky Center

About museum

On December 8, 2017, the Gilyarovsky Center, a branch of the Museum of Moscow named after the famous "king of Moscow reporters" Vladimir Gilyarovsky, opened in Stoleshnikov Lane. The site is located in a historic apartment building, where the writer himself once lived and worked, capturing the life and spirit of the capital at the turn of the XIX–XX centuries.
The exhibition and cultural life of the center is built around the history of Moscow, urban anthropology and contemporary art. Today, conceptual exhibition projects, lectures, theater labs, film screenings and excursions take place here, combining classical heritage with innovative socio-cultural practices and exploring the city through the prism of human stories.
