Chekmagush Historical and Local Lore Museum
About museum
Grigory Kondratyevich Vorobyov is the author of the project to establish the Chekmagush Historical and Local Lore Museum. The history of the creation of the Chekmagush Historical and Local Lore Museum is associated with the name of Grigory Kondratyevich Vorobyov, an outstanding amateur local historian. He took part in two world wars, and in peacetime worked as a zootechnician in agricultural production in the district center. In his youth he showed an interest in history, and after retirement he devoted himself to creating the museum and added a rich collection of antique items to the exhibition. For the future exhibition a historical principle is applied to reflect the main stages of the region's development, and both the aesthetic and emotional impact of the items on the viewer are taken into account. The main idea of the museum is to present separate stages of the region's development through museum exhibits, which are located in a hall with an area of 230.9 sq. m and consist of three sections: "Nature of the Chekmagush Region", "History of the Region" and "History and Modernity". It was Vorobyov who conceived and implemented this project.
