Burlinsky District Local History Museum
About museum
In December 1991 the Burlinsky District Local History Museum opened its doors to visitors. The building houses 4 halls: natural history, ethnographic, exhibition, and military. The museum's collection comprises about 6,000 items gathered by people wishing to preserve for their descendants what was created by their ancestors over many years. A distinctive feature of the museum is that it reflects the development of the Kulunda Steppe and its unique lakes, as well as the history of Novosibirsk Oblast and the Republic of Kazakhstan. The museum's ethnographic collection consists of household items of settlers from various provinces of Ukraine, and the archaeological collection dates back to the Bronze Age. Of special importance is the museum's documentary archive, which contains original documents about the district's residents during the Great Patriotic War (World War II), Afghanistan, and Chechnya.
