About museum

Balakovo Art Gallery is located in the building of a former bank, which is part of a complex of three public buildings constructed in 1912 in the style of 'rational' Art Nouveau. This architectural monument of the early 20th century has regional significance. The gallery was opened to visitors in 1977. It presents a permanent exhibition of Russian art of the 19th–20th centuries from the collections of the A. N. Radishchev Saratov State Art Museum. Temporary exhibitions of works from the museum's collections are also held here. Various events are held in the courtyard area. All of this makes the gallery attractive to local residents and visitors to the city.
