About museum
The Almenevsky District People's Historical and Local History Museum "Druzhba", named after F. I. Shakirova, was opened on November 28, 1980. Previously a mosque and madrasa occupied this building; in 1931 the premises were converted into a village club and later became the district House of Culture. The museum houses cultural and natural history collections representing the nature and history of the Almenevsky District. On display are handwritten and early printed books, photographs, documents, postcards, numismatic items, toys, textiles, porcelain and faience, orders and medals, clocks, lighting fixtures, musical instruments and much more. The museum features permanent exhibitions on the history and natural environment of the Almenevsky District, as well as traveling exhibitions based on the museum's collections. Visitors can learn about the daily life, traditions and way of life of the district's residents.
