A staged reading titled "The Story of One Chapter" took place at the A. N. Radishchev Museum. Students in grades 8–9 from the Radishchevo village school in Kuznetsky District were able, for a time, to immerse themselves in the 18th century and become the characters of the chapter "Zaitsevo" from Alexander Nikolaevich Radishchev's book "Journey from St. Petersburg to Moscow".

Museum staff spoke about the history of the book's creation, its title and its epigraph, and tried to recreate the era described in Radishchev's work. In the guise of a traveler the author moves across Russia from St. Petersburg to Moscow and exposes the realities of life for people of different social classes. At Zaitsevo station the traveler meets his long-time friend surnamed Krestyankin, who decided to leave his post in the criminal chamber after encountering blatant injustice, cruelty and bribery.

During the reading a plot was acted out that tells of the marriage of a "78-year-old gallant and a 62-year-old bride", of a certain widow who worked as a matchmaker and in her old age decided to marry a baron — he marries for money, while the widow, in her old age, wants to be addressed as "Your High Nobility." The author is outraged by the absurdity of what is happening. Studying the book "Journey from St. Petersburg to Moscow" through a staged reading helps young readers better understand the content of the work.
