The "Palaces of St. Petersburg" music festival invites you to a celebratory concert in honor of the birthday of Gatchina Palace!
The program will feature works by composers whose lives and creative eras are associated with the period of Gatchina Palace. Famous writer and historian Alexander Myasnikov will speak about the emperors and members of the imperial family who lived in the palace and about the great figures who left their mark there.
Participants in the concert include:
• Maria Safaryants — violinist, artistic director of the Festival, Honored Artist of Russia.
• Mikhail Gantvarg (violin) — People's Artist of Russia
• Irina Shishkova (mezzo-soprano) — Mariinsky Theatre
• Anastasia Kalagina (soprano) — Mariinsky Theatre
The concert will be accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory. Conductor — Alexey Vasiliev.
The concert will be hosted by the well-known TV presenter Vasily Kirov of the "Saint Petersburg" channel.
