Exhibition «Revealing the Shot»
About exhibition
The «Revealing the Shot» exhibition is located in the Powder Cellar. It features reconstructions of regiments from various eras; visitors can see the full equipment of the streltsy (Russian musketeers), protective armaments and banners, as well as wax sculptures. The «Revealing the Shot» project is the winner of the VI Grant Competition “The Scientific Museum in the 21st Century” of the Dmitry Zimin Dynasty Foundation for Non-Profit Programs. As part of the project, the working group created a multimedia installation that tells the history of firearms, the mechanism of the shot and the physical processes that accompany it — what a shot looks like from the inside. A film was also produced presenting sequences that demonstrate various types of shots and show the shot process in cross-section for different kinds of weapons. Each sequence is accompanied by a narrator’s commentary and highlights of real exhibits on display. Contact information: phone +7 (8512) 30-62-28, +7 (8512) 39-48-33.
