Permanent exhibition 'The Age of Timelessness. Sidur 1924 | 2024'
About exhibition
The Vadim Sidur Museum and the Moscow Museum of Modern Art present an exhibition — the concluding chapter of a tetralogy of events dedicated to the centenary of Vadim Sidur's birth and devoted to studying his legacy through the lens of a personal myth. The exhibition is organized across two floors of the museum and reveals the artist's unique vision and creative method. The project displays archival materials and works from different periods: from early experiments with stone sculpture to the definition of his own artistic language and the formation of the authorial direction in art 'Grob-Art' (Coffin Art). Vadim Sidur is a prominent representative of Soviet unofficial art of the second half of the 20th century. His biography tells the story of a man who endured the deprivations of the 1930s, evacuation, and a severe wound sustained while participating in the Great Patriotic War, and later faced rejection from representatives of the official culture. A man who, through dedication to his chosen path, managed to find the most precise language to express the inexpressible and to occupy a unique place in the history of postwar art.
