The Kirov Historical and Local Lore Museum is located in a remote neighbourhood, which made it difficult for certain groups of citizens to visit. Moreover, the adapted museum premises resulted in a shortage of exhibition space.

\r\nTo address these problems, the city authorities allocated a newly renovated premises in the central part of the city for the exhibition hall. The necessary funds came from regional and municipal budgets, and the sponsor was PhosAgro.

\r\nThe exhibition hall is equipped with modern museum equipment — display cases that block ultraviolet rays, which allows original objects and documents to be displayed for longer. The large areas of the new premises make it possible to collaborate with other major museums to host their exhibitions.

\r\nOn October 27, 2022, the exhibition hall of the Kirov Historical and Local Lore Museum was opened. At the ceremonial event, guests were presented with an exhibition dedicated to the city's birthday. Attendees saw items not only from the museum's collections but also objects from private collections, including those of some prominent Russian athletes.
