About museum
Located on the grounds of an old manor park in Chekhov, on the right bank of the Lopasnya River, the Lopasnya-Zachatyevskoye Estate museum is an architectural and garden-park monument of federal significance dating from the 18th–19th centuries. The exhibition presents the history of family and friendly ties between the estate owners, the Vasilchikovs and the Pushkins, and the Lanskys and the Goncharovs. The museum preserves a manor house from the mid-18th century in the Baroque style with an Empire-style porch from 1827, as well as a picturesque landscaped park with a formal layout and seven cascading ponds. On the grounds there is the Church of the Conception of the Righteous Anna (17th–19th centuries) and a necropolis where descendants of A. S. Pushkin are buried. A visit to the museum allows visitors to learn about the daily life, leisure, and contributions to the history and culture of Russia of the estate's owners and guests.
