Tyumentsevsky District Historical and Local History Museum
About museum
In the 1960s the Tyumentsevskaya secondary school decided to create a museum under the leadership of teacher Agniya Deomidovna Kochergova and local historian Yuri Sergeevich Orlov, who conducted excavations with students. In 1967 a one-story brick building was constructed, and on November 6 of the same year the Lenin school museum was opened. Since 2003 the museum became a municipal institution, and the collections of ethnography, decorative and applied arts, numismatics and other items gradually increased. Since 2011 the museum has regularly participated in grant programs of Altai Krai. In 2017 the museum was reorganized, moved to new premises and received more modern equipment. The exhibition hall began to present a sequence of cultural-historical situation-models from archaic times to the present, and the exhibition became more informative and engaging.
