Sychyovka Local History Museum
About museum
Sychyovsky District is an administrative-territorial unit and a municipal formation in the northeast of the Smolensk Region, whose administrative center is the small, cozy town of Sychyovka, located between two rivers - the Vazuza and the Losmina. Here you can find many 19th- and early 20th-century buildings, and you can also visit the Sychyovka Local History Museum, one of the oldest museums in the Smolensk Region. The museum presents the history and culture of the Sychyovsky area and the multinational history of Russia from ancient times to the present day. Each year the museum is visited by more than 6,500 people. Visitors can appreciate the rich collections, artistically arranged exhibitions, and friendly staff. Museum employees also conduct tours of the town, noble estates, the source of the Dnieper River, and sites of military glory.
