Pavlovo Knife Museum
About museum
On July 13, 2019, a branch of the municipal cultural institution Pavlovsky Historical Museum — the Pavlovo Knife Museum — was opened in Pavlovo. It is located in the city center and is accessible to residents and visitors thanks to convenient transport links. The museum displays about 400 knives located on the second floor. In the lobby you can learn about the history of the oldest house in Pavlovo, dated to the mid-18th century. The exhibition occupies three halls: the first is devoted to the history of the knife trade in the pre-revolutionary period, the second to the Soviet period of national history, and the third to works by masters of the late 20th — early 21st centuries. The core of the collection consists of items gathered over the past 80 years in the holdings of the Pavlovsky Historical Museum. The exhibition also includes items from the collection of Igor Dmitrievich Zavorotko, a Moscow collector and researcher of the history of Russian knife production.
