O.M. Otarov District Local History Museum

About museum

The museum was opened in 2002 and has since become one of the best museums in the republic. Currently its collection consists of more than 3,000 exhibits, each of which has historical and ethnographic value. The museum offers tours of four halls: 'Nature and Us', 'History of the Balkar People', 'Hall of Military Glory' and 'History of the Tungsten-Molybdenum Plant'. During these tours, museum staff carry out educational activities, helping people understand the history of their lineage, of individuals and of their nation, as well as their joys and sorrows, dignity and kindness.
