Primorsky State Art Gallery
About museum
Primorsky State Art Gallery is a splendid asset of Russia's Far East, the only museum in Primorsky Krai where one can find a very rare collection of Russian and Western European art. The history of the collection began in the 1930s, when precious exhibits were transferred from museums in Moscow and Leningrad. The gallery was opened to visitors in 1966. Today it presents more than 8,000 works of painting, graphics, sculpture, and Russian, European, Soviet and contemporary art. The permanent exhibition features works by Russian artists from the 16th to the early 20th century, including icon painting, as well as notable works and artistic movements of the 19th–20th centuries. The gallery regularly holds exhibitions of domestic and foreign artists, as well as various cultural, leisure and educational events: tours, quests, lectures and creative meetings.
