Pavlovsky Historical Museum
About museum
The architecturally unique Pavlovsky Historical Museum is an estate complex that has no analogues not only in Pavlov but also in Nizhny Novgorod. The author of this estate is unknown (presumably a Moscow architect). It is an object of cultural heritage of regional significance, adorned with lavish decorative ornamentation. Its elements are borrowed from various architectural styles, which is characteristic of eclecticism. The red brick walls contrast with the white stucco details, emphasizing the festive appearance of the mini-'palace'. The cast-iron casting of the roof canopy impresses with its intricacy and lace-like quality. All the buildings are made of red brick with white stucco details. It belongs to eclecticism and its variety — the 'brick style'. The complex volume of the main house, crowned with a tower with a sculpturally designed two-tiered cap and a spire, is located at the corner of Krasnoarmeyskaya and Lomonosov streets.
