Pavilion 'Arsenal'
About museum
The Arsenal is the main pavilion of Alexander Park; it was rebuilt in 1819–1834 to a design by the Scottish architect Adam Menelas in the Neo-Gothic style. In August 2016 the Arsenal was reopened to the public after an extensive restoration. It presents the exhibition 'Tsarskoye Selo Arsenal. The Imperial Collection of Arms', created in collaboration with the State Hermitage Museum. In the octagonal hall on the second floor (the Knights' Hall) more than 400 items are displayed, including Horace Vernet's painting 'The Tsarskoye Selo Carousel', collections of Eastern edged weapons and firearms of the 18th–19th centuries, horse harness items and 16th-century armor from the collection of Nicholas I, provided by the State Hermitage. The Pavilion 'Arsenal' once again invites visitors to enjoy the history and beauty of Imperial Russia.
