Omsk Fortress
About museum
The Second Omsk Fortress (18th–20th centuries) has been transformed into a historical and cultural complex where you can meet representatives of different eras of the Omsk Fortress's history: Siberian servicemen, gunners from the era of Peter the Great, and musketeers of the Shirvan Regiment. Interactive tours are offered: you can try on historical costumes, test reconstructed weapons and take photographs. Artisans' workshops host master classes where you can shoot a bow, learn weaving, or try metal casting. For children there are puppet shows by the "Kochevoy Theatre" and the "Dostoevsky Promenade", since it was in the Omsk Fortress prison that Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky spent four years in penal servitude.
