Odintsovo Historical and Local History Museum
About museum
The Odintsovo Historical and Local History Museum is an important place for studying the history and culture of the Odintsovo district. Here you can learn many interesting facts about the life and activities of the district's residents. The museum is a heritage of the past and a worthy place to visit. The museum is located in the building of the former office of the brick factory of Vasily Ivanovich Yakunchikov, which was purchased in 1876. Thanks to the local historian, teacher and front-line veteran Alexander Andreevich Puzatikov, in June 1987 a decision was made to establish the museum in the old house on a voluntary/community basis. After two years of renovation, the museum opened its doors to visitors on September 1, 1989. In the exhibition halls you can see displays dedicated to the history of dacha (summer cottage) theaters, as well as various items of decorative and applied arts. On the museum's outdoor grounds you can see examples of Soviet-era equipment and weaponry.
