Window to Asia Museum Complex
About museum
The "Window to Asia" Museum Complex is located in the 130th quarter of Irkutsk (Irkutskaya Sloboda) — in a restored monument of wooden architecture. The exhibition is dedicated to the history of the scientific exploration of Siberia, the activities of the governors-general of Eastern Siberia (members of the Russian Geographical Society), and to the study and incorporation into Russia of the northeastern part of the Asian continent. The museum features permanent exhibitions: "Continent Eurasia", "Scientific Exploration of Siberia", "Governors-General of Eastern Siberia", as well as the archaeological exhibition "Irkutsk — Center of Migration Routes". Various themed master classes are also held here.
