Museum and Exhibition Complex «Borisoglebskaya Side»
About museum
The museum was founded in 2006 and currently consists of seven exhibitions dedicated to the history and development of Tutayev (formerly Romanov-Borisoglebsk). One of them, called «E. E. Klassen's Manufactory», is a monument to the development of the Borisoglebskaya part of the town in the late 19th — early 20th century, associated with the life and activities of the German manufacturer and second-guild merchant E. E. Klassen. Another exhibition, called «The Tsar's Sheep», recreates a peasant izba — the shepherd's house — with wooden household items, a stove, a red corner (icon corner) and other objects covered with sheepskins. The third exhibition, devoted to the «Primer's Apartment», introduces visitors to the Soviet school and the author of the first Soviet primer — honored teacher of the RSFSR and head of the Chebakovskaya school N. M. Golovin. The «Soviet Province» exhibition tells the story of the city in the 20th century and life in the Soviet Union, while «Inhabitants of Our Forests» presents more than 200 exhibits about the animals and birds of the central part of Russia.
