Museum and Local History Center 'Museum of Komsomol Glory'
About museum
On November 3, 1971 the Museum of the History of the Diesel Locomotive Plant was opened; in 1981 it was awarded the title 'People's'. In 1992 it was relocated to the building of the former Museum of Komsomol Glory named after the heroes of the Lyudinovo underground, and in December 2016 it became a branch of the Kaluga United Museum-Reserve. The museum features sections dedicated to the Demidov period, the history of the development of the Maltsov district, the everyday life of local residents at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries, the revolutionary movement in Lyudinovo, the town's pre-war development, the Great Patriotic War, the development of diesel locomotive engineering and the Lyudinovo Diesel Locomotive Plant. In addition, the museum holds rich collection materials and an extensive library on local history, the history of the youth movement, the Great Patriotic War, state matters and other topics. The museum hosts lectures and thematic tours and also provides opportunities for writing research, academic and term papers.
